Mary Odell Butler


Dr. Mary Butler is an applied anthropologist with expertise in research design, methods, management, and supervision of evaluation projects. She has been an adjunct Professor of Anthropology at the University of Maryland since 2007, and at the University of North Texas since 2011. Dr. Butler is currently working for Westat on a CDC evaluation of training program for providers on the prevention and amelioration of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum disorders. She is a past chairperson to the AAA Committee on Practicing, Applied and Public Interest Anthropology and a past President of the National Association for the Practice of Anthropology.
