AnthroCurrents December 7, 2017

Julia Wignall December 7, 2017 No Comments

Hi, practicing community!   It’s been a whirlwind of a Fall and I hope you can forgive me for my sparse updates.  I hope all of you who made it to AAA this year had a great time and reconnected with your anthro community.  If you have any pressing news or stories that came out of AAA that you’d like to share here, send us a note on our Contact Us page.

Medical anthropologist, Sharon Young, conducted a study about whether eating the placenta afterbirth actually yields health benefits.

There’s not a lot of substance to this article but it’s about an NFL player who majored in anthropology.  It would be nice to get an in-depth view of his stance on the discipline and how he sees culture playing out on the field.

Want to really live a Paleolithic life?  Turns out it’s about more than what we ate… it’s also about social organization and economic inequality.  Would love to see this can be incorporated into modern day health & lifestyle choices.

Ever had FOMO (fear of missing out)?  Turns out that might be a good thing…
