AnthroJobs of the Week, 8 September 2021

Joshua Liggett September 9, 2021 No Comments

Hello Readers, we’re back! We have a few interesting positions at Workaday, New Media Advocacy Project, Bixal, and Netflix. Check them out!

At Workday, they help the world’s largest organizations adapt to what’s next by bringing finance, HR, and planning into a single enterprise cloud. They work hard, and they’re serious about what they do. But they like to have fun, too. They put people first, celebrate diversity, drive innovation, and do good in the communities where they live and work. The Workday Analytics UX team modernizes how humans and computers work together. Their analytics products sit at the intersection of inspiring design problems: data visualization, complex workflows, cross-team collaboration. Their designers enjoy the fun and challenge of applying design practice to these rich problem spaces, making cloud data interactive, accessible, and beautiful. A strong design ethos is at the core of their product development. Their team is growing and they need designers who can find the right balance between familiar workflows and compelling innovation.

Their team is growing and they are looking for designers who enjoy the fun and challenge of applying design practice to make cloud data interactive, accessible, and beautiful. You will work cross-functionally to develop concepts, flows, and UI for Workday products and features. This role will help a relatively new product in Analytics achieve the next level of usability and utility through both vision work and feature work, working closely with cross-functional teams and pairing with other designers.

New Media Advocacy Project (NMAP) is a team of narrative strategists working at the intersection of narrative change, movement building, and cultural engagement. Their roots are in human rights advocacy and visual storytelling, and they work with grassroots groups to understand the nuanced picture of beliefs, values, and behaviors that underlie entrenched and polarizing issues. The narrative change strategies that arise from this work are informed by the science of framing, impact measurement, and strategic distribution. Over the last decade, they’ve worked with more than 100 human and environmental rights groups in 40 countries to make measurable impact on a range of issues, from the death penalty to indigenous rights to abuses by multinational mining corporations.

NMAP is seeking a Director of Narrative Strategy to lead and grow their narrative change and strategic storytelling work across their two programs: Beneath the Surface, which addresses the dire need for narrative change around environmental justice among communities and governments; and Rights Reframed, their narrative change and multimedia storytelling mentorship program for activists and storytellers. These programs are currently focused in the former Soviet Union, Sub-Saharan Africa (Guinea, DRC, and Nigeria), The Caribbean (Haiti) and the United States (Appalachia).

Bixal is a mission-driven, woman-owned small business determined to improve people’s lives through human-centered strategies and transformative technologies, with a firm belief that everyone has the right to an effective government.  We deliver on this belief by partnering with leading Federal agencies to design, develop, and deliver powerful customer experiences through holistic digital product solutions and strategic communications initiatives––bringing a high standard and unique creative energy to their clients––and their wonderfully diverse culture is what makes it all possible.

The Program Manager will support projects within Bixal’s international development delivery; monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL); and data analytics practice areas. The Program Manager will be primarily responsible for project management of a portfolio of overseas country offices and/or large-scale contracts with the United States Agency for International Development and/or other international development clients. The Program Manager may also be expected to provide limited business development support. This is a full-time, fully remote position.

At Netflix, they are shaping the future of entertainment because they believe there is a better way to watch. Coupled with their passion for entertainment, the Consumer Insights team helps bring the consumer’s and creator’s voices into crucial decision-making.

Come join a diverse and collaborative team of researchers who work directly with data science, product, content, marketing and studio, bringing consumer insights to Netflix’s world of entertainment. Our primary research ranges from formative to evaluative, using approaches such as focus groups, in-depth interviews, quantitative surveys, social listening, conversation & audience analysis, as well as statistical modeling.

The right candidates will have training in rigorous, creative, and impactful research methods. They will be excellent communicators, passionate about how entertainment and tech come together to engage with new audiences, and the complexities of supporting teams that have a global and regional view of future solutions. Internships are paid and are a minimum of 12 weeks.
