Some editing, design, and other newsletter or related skills preferable.
Ability to keep to deadlines with minimal oversight.
Willingness to proactively approach NAPA leaders for news and information.

Gather relevant information in a timely way.
Proactively contract members of the NAPA Governing Council (Committee chairs and elected officials) to gather accurate newsletter content as needed.
Coordinate with senior editor to create and review drafts, and produce final PDF edition.

Preferably, this would be a two-year assignment minimally (six issues).
NAPA will hopefully give you as much support as needed during your tenure.
There are months of relative inactivity followed by a few rather busy moments, perhaps 10 hours spread over the course of three weeks.
As you cycle on or off, work with the senior editor to ensure a smooth transition.
Build a network of professionals from within the organization.
Gain outreach, writing, and editing experience for your resume.
Develop your research, editorial, design, or whatever other skills you want to bring to bear.
Become very familiar with NAPA and its leadership, AAA, other organizations, and how these organizations are managed.
Be among the first to know about upcoming NAPA news and events.
Have fun while contributing to the discipline.
